Gift Day at the Farmers' Market in St. Edmund's Parish Hall
No Farmers' Market: gifts may be brought to the church porch
Acle Farmers’ Market returned in October to our Parish Hall – two things (the Market and the Hall) provided by St. Edmund’s Church for the benefit of the wider community. A third is the church building itself: the last 12 months, with your help, have seen the completion of the installation of a new boiler and partial rethatching – I hope you agree it looks wonderful; and it’s watertight!
Unfortunately, this year Coronavirus has prevented us from using either building in the way that we normally do. This has a financial impact – e.g. collections at church services will be down: there were none at all during lockdown; and now services are smaller and fewer than usual.
The Chancellor controversially referred to the viability of businesses post-Covid. The viability of St. Edmund’s Church each year depends on the generosity not only of those who attend regularly, but our supporters in the wider community – and that’s particularly true now. That’s why we’ve decided still to hold our annual Gift Day.
We recognise that finances are difficult for some at the moment; but others may find their spending has reduced. If you are able to give there is a choice of ways:-

- By delivering or posting a donation to The Rectory, Norwich Road (NR13 3BU); if possible, with an accompanying Gift Aid form (overleaf); make cheques payable to “Acle PCC”.
- By bringing it to me at the
Farmers’ Marketchurch on Saturday 14th November (9am – 12 noon).
St. Edmund’s Church is open 10am – 5pm on certain days for private prayer (usually Thursday – see the Calendar); also for Remembrance Thu 5th – Sat 7th and Mon 9th – Wed 11th Nov – leave a poppy or cross in the trough to mark your visit.
